Ethics is given the highest priority in EU funded research: all the activities carried out under Horizon 2020 must comply with ethical principles and relevant national, EU and international legislation, for example the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the European Convention on Human Rights. The City.Risks project has appointed an Ethics Board for monitoring and controlling all ethical issues that may arise during the project activities. Members of the Ethics Board are:

  • Nadia Liapi (Space Hellas S.A., Greece) (Chair)
  • Michael Klafft (Jade University, Fraunhofer FOKUS, Germany)
  • Nikoleta Spasova (G4S Security Solutions Bulgaria, Bulgaria)
  • Paul Turnbull (The Institute for Criminal Policy Research, United Kingdom)
  • Marie Torstensson Levander (Malmö University, Sweden)

The External Advisory Board includes experts from relevant domains, who will provide an annual review on project progress, by giving suggestions and recommendations and will support dissemination events. Members of the Board are:

  • Professor Corinne May-Chahal (Lancaster University)
  • Jörg Feldmann (FOKUS-Fraunhofer)
  • Lt. Colonel (Eng) Georgios Kanterakis, PhD
