The City.Risks project was invited and participated along with other twelve (12) European FP7 and H2020 projects in the workshop organized by the Commission on the citizen’s awareness on March 7th 2018  in Brussels in the scope of  the “Community of Users on Secure, Safe and Resilient Societies” (CoU). The CoU  has been launched in January 2014 and has since developed to become an efficient platform of exchanges among different actors of different branches of security and crisis management. City.Risks was represented in the workshop by the  project coordinator Socrates Costicoglou (Space hellas) who had the opportunity to present the project and exchange experiences, approaches, obstacles and successes on the engagement of Citizens and Practitioners in the project activities. After a first round of short presentations (5-6 minutes per participant), there were three round table discussions: on interface researchers-citizens, on interface practitioners-citizens, and the final one on interface practitioners-researchers-policy makers-citizens. There was also a separate room for posters, flyers, videos etc. where the video of City.Risks from the pilot activities in Rome was displayed and there were opportunities for networking among the projects and some practitioners.
